Panch Mahal

Description

Panch mahal located in Fatehpur Sikri, this five storey palace was built by the Mughal Emperor Akbar.This five storey mahal is designed in a decreasing order i.e. each floor is shorter than the one below it. From the top of the palace, one can enjoy a spectacular view of the whole city.

History

This five storey palace was built by the Mughal Emperor Akbar for relaxation purpose. Made nearer to the harem (women quarters), it was constructed in such a manner that it gave respite from the intense summer heat.
